A lot of seaweed got entangled in the 'fan' (propeller) of the boat. The boat stopped in the middle of the river. The boat, loaded with passengers, drifted for about two kilometers. The boatmen somehow pulled it to the shore with a rope. Upon receiving the news, two delegations led by Inspector Surjit Barik of the Katwa Subdistrict Regional Transport Department inspected the ferry pier. Surjit Babu claimed that it is very dangerous to operate the boat in this way. The boatmen have been instructed to be more careful. If necessary, ferry services have been stopped for the safety of passengers.
